Silver Standard Ballroom Dance Shoes - 5cm Latino Heel • 161
The Diamant 161 Silver Ballroom Dance Shoe proves that comfortable doesn't have to mean sensible-looking. A softly shimmering silver upper, elegant closed toe and graceful 5cm heel give it plenty of occasion-ready polish, while the secure crossover straps and comfortable construction make it wonderfully wearable on the dance floor.
Diamant 161 Silver Personality
Elegant • Comfortable • Feminine • Social-Ready
161 sits in a lovely place between practical and pretty. The silver finish catches the light enough to feel special, but the closed toe, moderate heel and secure straps keep everything reassuringly wearable. It's the kind of Ballroom shoe that looks perfectly at home at a dance event or special occasion, yet doesn't make you wonder halfway through the evening why you chose looks over comfort.
Diamant 161 Silver Ballroom Shoes - Design & Performance
The Diamant 161 uses a beautifully shaped closed-toe vamp with a soft V-cut across the foot. It gives the coverage and security many dancers prefer from a traditional Standard Ballroom shoe, while the subtle V-shape prevents the front from looking heavy and helps create a more elegant line through the foot.
The 5cm Latino heel introduces a little more lift than Diamant's lower 4.2cm Spanish styles without pushing the dancer into the more demanding position of a high competition heel. Its gently shaped base keeps the silhouette feminine while retaining enough stability for social dancing, classes and longer events.
Two slender straps cross diagonally around the foot and heel, creating considerably more security than the delicate appearance suggests. The configuration helps keep the back of the shoe connected to the foot during travelling movement and turns, while Diamant's quick-release push-button fastening makes adjustment straightforward.
Inside, breathable Italian microfibre creates a smooth, comfortable environment around the foot and helps manage moisture during longer periods of dancing. Underneath, the traditional brushed leather dance sole provides controlled glide and turning on a clean indoor dance floor.
The silver upper is another reason we like the 161. Rather than a flat grey metallic, its reflective finish changes subtly as the shoe moves under the light, giving an otherwise classic closed Ballroom silhouette a much more celebratory character.

Dance World Notes
One of those rare comfortable shoes that still feels special.
The 161 is a lovely option when you want the reassurance of a closed Ballroom shoe but don't want the result to look overly practical. Silver gives this traditional construction just enough sparkle for parties, weddings and dance events.
Dance World Fit Advice
Overall Fit
The Diamant 161 generally fits true to size. We recommend beginning with your usual UK dance shoe size.
Width & Forefoot
The 161 is made in Diamant's E½ fitting, giving it a regular-to-slightly-slim feel. Dancers between sizes or with a slightly fuller forefoot may prefer the next half size up.
Dance World sizing recommendations are intended as a guide. Ballroom shoe fit is individual and can vary with foot width, toe shape, instep height and personal preference.
Dance World Tip - If you love the security of a closed-toe Ballroom shoe but want something prettier for socials and special occasions, the 161 is a particularly nice middle ground. The silver finish does the dressing up while the shoe underneath remains reassuringly traditional.
